WNBA, NBA Approve Sun Sale, Relocation To Houston

The WNBA is returning to Houston.

The WNBA and NBA board of governors has unanimously approved the sale and relocation of the Connecticut Sun franchise from the Mohegan Tribe to Houston Rockets owner Tilman J. Fertitta.

The Sun will play the remainder of the 2026 campaign in Connecticut before relocating to Houston ahead of the 2027 season.

The team will be rebranded as the Houston Comets.

The Comets originally played in Space City from 1997 to 2008.
