Former Congressman Barney Frank is in hospice care.
The 86-year-old spent more than three decades representing Massachusetts where he pushed liberal causes.
Frank is known for his time as chair of the House Financial Services Committee during the 2008 financial crisis.
His name is on the Dodd-Frank Act, a signature piece of legislation that brought increased scrutiny on the nation's banking system.
