Plans for a new reentry facility in Westfield are being called off.
Community Resources for Justice announced yesterday that it will not move forward with a facility on Southampton Road following pushback over its close proximity to a school.
Residents spent weeks protesting the facility, which was expected to house about 40 people who were transitioning out of prison.
CRJ said it will work with the City of Westfield to find a more "appropriate" use for the property.
