Food Insecurity Increasing In MA

Food insecurity in Massachusetts is up to 40-percent of households according to a report from the Greater Boston Food Bank.

It says the rate has more than doubled since 2019, caused by rising costs, economic instability and federal policy changes.

Recommendations to address the problem include strengthening government food and nutrition programs, expanding access to affordable, locally produced food and investing in community infrastructure.
