The Hampden County Sheriff says millions in budget cuts will impact local police departments.
Sheriff Nick Cocchi said the Sheriff's Office may no longer be able to fund extra patrols, specialized units, and crime analysts used by local law enforcement agencies across the county.
This includes some overnight patrols in Palmer and half of the analysts at the Real-Time Crime Center in Chicopee.
The first phase of the Sheriff's Office's budget cuts is targeting up to four-million-dollars in savings and could eliminate dozens of positions.
