Two crew members were aboard the New Bedford-based Yankee Rose fishing vessel when it capsized off the coast of Provincetown on Thursday. According to the Boston Globe both crew members are presumed dead.
The Coast Guard confirms that Massachusetts Environmental Police recovered one person from the water at around 12:30 yesterday afternoon.
The search for the second crew member was ongoing as of Thursday night. Two Good Samaritans reported the sinking vessel at around noon in the water near Race Point.
The Coast Guard launched a helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft to search the water and multiple first responders were also called to the scene.
Additional information is expected today.
The Yankee Rose is the same vessel that experienced a carbon monoxide incident at MacMillan Wharf in Provincetown on February 26th.
