The President of the Springfield City Council is accused of repeatedly violating the state's conflict-of-interest laws.
A legal memo issued by the city's Law Department yesterday alleges Council President Tracye Whitfield never filed required disclosures about the property development company she managed with her son while directly engaging with Springfield officials on its behalf.
This reportedly includes two city properties won by the company at a public auction earlier this month.
The city says the matter is being referred to the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission.
