The inaugural season of the Women's Pro Baseball League will feature a team in Boston.
The league announced Boston, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco have been chosen to be the homes of the teams when the league launches in the spring.
More than 600 players took part in tryouts in the summer with former Little League World Series star Mo'ne Davis among them.
The WPBL will be the first attempt at a women's baseball league in the U.S. since the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League shut down in 1954.
The league's co founder is Springfield College grad Justine Siegel.
