Fire Reported At Salvation Army Building

Firefighters were called to the Salvation Army building in Holyoke Monday night.

Crews were sent to the facility on Appleton Street shortly before 7 p.m.

Officials said a small fire was found in the boiler and chimney area and put out a short time later.

The fire is under investigation, but authorities believe it was caused by a faulty boiler.

It wasn't the only fire that crews had to deal with.

Firefighters knocking down a blaze on Newton Street. It was an abandoned building.

There were no injuries. But that blaze also remains under investigation.
