Massachusetts Officials Condemn Killing Of Charlie Kirk

Public officials across Massachusetts are condemning the killing of Charlie Kirk yesterday in Utah.

Governor Maura Healey says the deadly shooting was horrific, and the growth of political violence in the country must be stopped. Congressman Seth Moulton is the father of two young children like Kirk was, and says he cannot imagine what that family is going through.

Boston Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley says while she disagreed with nearly everything Kirk said publicly, he was still someone's son, husband and father.

Cape Cod Congressman Bill Keating says, "Whether in the exercise of free speech, or in worshiping, or in attending school, Americans have a right to live free from violence. Beyond today's breaking news stories are many more families that have been or will be impacted by gun violence today - an average of one death every eleven minutes. My prayers are with Charlie Kirk’s young family and every single family impacted by gun violence. It must end."

The 31-year-old Kirk is survived by his wife and two young children.

There have been no arrests.
