State Says Funding Cuts Would Impact Students- Spark Teacher Layoffs

Over 100 million dollars in federal education grants for Massachusetts are currently on hold.

State officials say the 108 million dollars that were expected to arrive on July first are now under review to determine if they align with President Trump's priorities.

Governor Maura Healey says every day that passes without the education funding children in the state are hurt, along with educators, communities and the economy.

House Speaker Ron Mariano says withholding the funds is reckless and mean-spirited.
