State Officials: Most Use Of Hotel Rooms As State Shelters To End Today

The state's use of hotel rooms to shelter homeless and migrant families will mostly end today.

State officials say 28 hotel sites will no longer be used after today, with just four sites remaining open until the end of July.

The state was using 130 hotels at the peak of the crisis, with 75-hundred families and 23-thousand people in total housed under the program.

The state has spent 830 million dollars on the emergency shelter program in the current fiscal year which ends today.
