U.S. Attorney Leah Foley said Boston Mayor Michelle Wu's recent comments about ICE operations in Massachusetts were "reckless and inflammatory."
In an interview, the mayor said the public is terrified and she described ICE agents as masked secret police snatching people off the streets.
In a social media post today Foley said the term "secret police" is offensive and said claims that agents are skirting the law is a "gross misrepresentation."
She said quote, "we will not apologize for doing our job."
Mayor Wu has not commented.
