Governor Maura Healey spent part of her Memorial Day in Western Mass.
The governor spoke during the annual remembrance ceremony at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
Healey said Memorial Day isn't about the people gathered at the event, but those who are not there because they made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The ceremony was also attended by area lawmakers including State Senator John Velis and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno.
