Former Officer Loses Certification After Using Stun Gun On Pregnant Woman

A former Springfield officer who used a stun gun on a pregnant woman is losing his certification.

The Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission recently voted to revoke the certification of Leon Davis for the incident in 2020.

Investigators said Davis used a stun gun multiple times on a pregnant woman accused of trespassing in a hotel.

He was suspended after the incident and resigned from the Springfield Police Department last year.
