Three members of the state delegation to Congress toured the Louisiana ICE detention facility where a Tufts doctoral student is being held.
Senator Ed Markey was joined by Boston Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and Worcester Congressman Jim McGovern in touring the facility.
Rumeysa Ozturk from Tufts has been held at the detention center since soon after she was grabbed by ICE agents outside her Somerville apartment last month.
Pressley says they traveled to demand the release of Ozturk, saying they will not allow the abuses of power to go unchecked.
