Former President Obama says Harvard University has "set an example for other higher-ed institutions."
The nation's 44th president took to social media this week to praise Harvard even as President Trump is threatening to strip the Ivy League school of its tax exempt status.
Trump's threat came a day after Harvard President Alan Garber rejected the administration's demands to overhaul its policies or lose academic grants.
The president had already responded to Harvard's rejection by rescinding over two-billion-dollars in grants.
Trump later posted on social media that he would consider ending Harvard's tax exempt status if it continues to support what he called "political, ideological and terrorist inspired" policies.
