Springfield Police Suspend Officer After Connecticut Arrest

The Springfield man who was arrested in Connecticut on charges that he allegedly tried to have a relationship with a high school girl is a Springfield Police Officer.

Now, Police Superintendent Larry Akers says he has suspended Justin Perez without pay for five days.

The Superintendent has already notified the POST Commission which will handle any further disciplinary action.

Perez has been a Springfield Police Officer since 2022.

Perez had pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He is free on 100 thousand dollars bond.
