Bill Would Allow Seizure Of Street Takeover Vehicles

The state legislature is considering a bill that would allow police to seize vehicles involved in illegal street takeovers and car meet ups.

The bill has been offered by New Bedford state Representative Chris Markey, and would also allow illegal dirt bikes and ATVs to be seized.

Markey says he believes the possible loss of the vehicle would be a strong deterrent to the owners of these vehicles.

He says street takeovers are dangerous for those involved and for police.
