State Senator Ryan Fazio is officially launching his campaign for Connecticut governor.
The Greenwich Republican announced his bid through a video posted to his social media pages yesterday.
Fazio was first elected to the state senate in 2021, representing the district that includes the communities of Greenwich, Stamford, and New Canaan.
He and Westport First Selectwoman Jen Tooker are the only Republicans who have shared formal plans to seek the office next year.
Fazio says it is time to support police, lower electric bills by 20 percent and cap property taxes.
Democrat Governor Ned Lamont has not said whether he will seek reelection, saying he will announce his decision late this summer or early fall.
