Western Mass has recorded its first mosquito sample of Eastern Equine Encephalitis. Triple E has been found in Belchertown.
Dr Robbie Goldstein over at the State Health Department says he is not surprised- since this is about the time of year a positive sample is found.
Long sleeves, sprays with DEET.
Removing standing water is the way to go.
Now comes word this morning that a mosquito sample with West Nile Virus has appeared in Leydon, that’s in Franklin County.
So far state officials say there have been no human cases reported of either Triple E or WNV.
