Springfield Man Faces Gun Charged After Traffic Stop

A Springfield man faces gun charges following a traffic stop.

Police say officers were patrolling the area of State Street and St. James Avenue Monday night when they spotted a crowd of people loitering outside of a business.

While advising the group they can't loiter in front of the business, officers saw two individuals quickly get into a vehicle and drive away.

The officers pulled over the vehicle and began patting down Cesar Molina-Torres, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

A stolen firearm was found in his waistband.

Molina-Torres was arrested on charges of Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Receiving Stolen Property.
