Search For Missing Kayaker Put On Hold

The search for a man that went missing in the Connecticut River earlier this week is being put on hold.

Holyoke officials said the search for 27-year-old Niklas Delisle was stopped yesterday afternoon due to high winds, and will remain paused with rain in the forecast over the next two days that will cause the river to swell.

Crews have searched the area of the Holyoke Dam since Monday night, when Delisle fell over while kayaking in the river.

The Fire Department says the search will resume when the river is safe.
