Real ID Takes Effect Today

Today is the REAL ID deadline.

REAL ID is an enhanced security driver's license that will be needed to board any domestic airline flight in lieu of a passport.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says travelers without Real ID will still be able to board flights for the time being, but will likely face more security steps before.

Officials say that if you don't have the ID yet, you will need to make an appointment at your state's Department of Motor Vehicles.
