Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno is wondering why no one on Beacon Hill, not the governor or state lawmakers are listening to him.
For ten years he has had some same pleas. Lock up repeat violent offenders.
The mayor wants major reform in bail laws that he says make jails revolving doors for violent gang bangers.
The mayor repeating his pleas after eight Springfield men were arrested, one of them a 21-year-old had at least two-gun convictions and two open gun cases when he was arrested last week.
State Rep Angelo Puopolo has filed the same bill on behalf of the mayor for years without lawmakers ever voting on the measure.
That bill would allow prosecutors the ability to appeal low bails, just as defendants can appeal high bails.
The bill has been refiled for this session as well.
