North Carolina Hiring Bill Belichick

A future Pro Football Hall of Famer is taking his talents to Chapel Hill.

The six-time Super Bowl winning head coach Bill Belichick has finalized a five year - 30 million dollar deal to become the next head coach at North Carolina.

The 72-year-old makes the switch to college football after working in the NFL in some capacity from 1975 to 2023.

The hiring was spearheaded by North Carolina board chair John P. Preyer, who met with Belichick multiple times at length.

The Tar Heels make the change to Belichick after moving on from Mack Brown, who went 44-and-33 over six years.

Washington defensive coordinator Stephen Belichick, Bill's son, is expected to be involved with the UNC staff in some way.
