Dems Critical Of RFK, Jr Nomination

Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey is blasting Donald Trump's selection of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. The Democrat Markey said Trump's decision to nominate Kennedy is "dangerous, unqualified and unserious." Kennedy has been an outspoken critic of vaccine mandates. Soon-to-be Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota said he didn't have any reaction at this point and ducked a question about whether he'd support Kennedy's confirmation.

Meantime, Senator Elizabeth Warren is equally unimpressed by the Kennedy nomination.

“Donald Trump’s appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. poses a danger to public health, scientific research, medicine, and health care coverage for millions of Americans. RFK Jr. wants to stop parents from protecting their babies from measles and his ideas would welcome the return of polio. He has spread conspiracy theories on everything from COVID to mass shootings. I will have a lot of questions about Mr. Kennedy’s fitness to serve as health secretary when he appears before the Finance Committee.”
