In just four days Mike Shaw owner of Loco & Fatbaby in Southie has raised over $150,000 for his staff. The winter months in the restaurant industry are already slow... combined with COVID no doubt the service industry has been one of the hardest hit.
Setting up a GoFundMe and selling tees and sweatshirts Mike has been able to see an outpouring of support. Loco ... one of my favorite spots from my Taco Tour when I first arrived out here. If you love either of these restaurants think about donating.

*Match what our full-time employees made, dollar-for-dollar, in February and March 2019
*Give whatever is left away to other South Boston restaurant employees
On April 1st outdoor dining will resume in the city of Boston, vaccine rollout will be well underway, and our team members will be able to get back to work at a full-time pace. This effort will help to keep them employed, motivated, and financially secure through what will undoubtedly be our most challenging months.
