Reid Perry has opted to leave The Band Perry, the trio he and his siblings started 15 years ago.
The Band Perryâs self-titled debut album arrived in 2010. Reid, Kimberly Perry and Neil Perry quickly became known for hits like âIf I Die Young,â âBetter Dig Twoâ and âDONE,â to name a few. They went on to score several No. 1 singles, plus win awards from the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and more.
Reid shared a statement announcing his departure from the group on Instagram on Monday (October 13): âTo the fans, youâve always been my favorite part of this. Iâve decided to leave TBP. Iâll be missing seeing you in the crowd at a Band Perry show but Iâll be around, managing a new voice I believe in more than anything, Ryan Coleman. For me it was and will always be about making great country music, with and for the hardworking people who love it and live it. Thank you for every memory, Iâll see you back in the saddle. I wish Kimberly and TBP the best as they move forward into the future.â
Reidâs exit makes Kimberly the final original member of the band. The Band Perry announced their official comeback in June with Reid, Kimberly and Kimberlyâs husband, Johnny Costello. The Band Perry returned after the original bandmates âdecided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits,â they announced in early 2023. Neil continued his solo endeavors when the band reunited, and is bandmates have wished him âthe most success.â Kimberly commented on Reidâs post on Monday: âReid! Wishing you the most wonderful successes in your new era! Love you, brother!â
