Kane Brown released a new ballad from his upcoming album that captures a sweet glimpse of his life as a dad. The award-winning artist delivered the debut live performance of “Backseat Driver” when he took the stage on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (October 10). The song made its debut on Friday (October 11).

“Backseat Driver” is the latest song to arrive from Brown’s 18-track album, The High Road, due in early 2025. So far, Brown has also released “I Can Feel It” — the single with a Phil Collins nod that inspired the name of his 2024 headlining tour — “Fiddle in the Band,” and “Miles On It,” his first collaboration with Marshmello since teaming up with the DJ and producer on “One Thing Right” in 2019. Brown announced the release date of “Backseat Driver” when he confirmed album details earlier this week. He previously shared sneak peeks of the heartfelt ballad on his social media pages.

Brown and his wife, Katelyn Brown, are parents to three young children: daughters Kingsley Rose, nearly 5, Kodi Jane, 2, and son Krewe Allen. The Browns welcomed Baby No. 3 in June. The “Thank God” singers were one of several country couples to welcome a baby in 2024.

The High Road is set to arrive on January 24. Brown will kick off his 2025 headlining tour in March, with Mitchell TenpennyScotty McCreeryAshley Cooke and Dasha joining on select stops. Tickets will be available to the general public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, October 18. Watch the “Backseat Driver” music video here:
