After losing two great young people to opioid abuse over the past couple years, a dedicated group of friends and family came together in 2018 to form The Forest Park Project, a non-profit organization in their honor in an effort to combat this devastating epidemic.
Through their compassion and charisma, Brian Metzger and Christian Diaz touched scores of people on deep, personal levels. While their losses were devastating enough individually, together, their stories provide yet another illustration of how this epidemic impacts every segment of society.
With the help and generosity of our supporters along with the assistance of the Michael J. Dias Foundation, The Forest Park Project accomplished its chief goal with the establishment of Christian & Brian’s House, a sober living facility on Mill Street and Springfield.
The Forest Park Project assumes an active role in the maintenance of Christian & Brian’s House. Since opening in the Summer of 2020, Christian & Brian’s House has already been home to over 100 men looking to win their battles with addiction and regain control of their lives
In the process, Christian & Brian House has established itself as one of the premier sober communities in the area and proven to be a vital resource in the region’s ongoing fight against the opioid epidemic.
And none of that would have been possible without the generosity of our supporters who understand the importance of this struggle to all of us.
The Annual Forest Park Project Golf Tournament is our key fundraiser each year. This year’s event is taking place on Sunday, Oct. 1st at Wyckoff Country Club in Holyoke, Mass.
