Spirit of Springfield Postpones World's Largest Pancake Breakfast

A Springfield tradition is being put on pause for a second year in a row. Spirit of Springfield's "World's Largest Pancake Breakfast" has officially been postponed due to the current climate of the pandemic.

For a 2nd year, the World's Largest Pancake Breakfast will not be held on its traditional date in mid-May.
“The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance,” said Judy Matt, Spirit of Springfield President. “We are hopeful that we will be able to bring the community together in celebration at a date later in the year.”
The World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast has been a tradition for Springfield since 1986 when the City of Springfield celebrated the 350th anniversary of its founding which took place on May 14, 1636. It features a hearty breakfast of pancakes, bacon, milk, juice, coffee, and a lot of community spirit.

I was lucky enough to experience this event for my first time in 2019 and it was great to see so many people of all backgrounds come together and enjoy... PANCAKES!

I'm looking forward to the day when we can all get together and do it again!
