#NeverForget & Forgiveness - SNL Makes It Right

Two Saturdays ago Pete Davidson made a poor joke on SNL about war hero and congressman elect Lt. Commander Dan Crenshaw. He wears an eye patch because he lost his eye to an IED during his 3rd combat tour in Afghanistan. Pete made a joke about a picture comparing Lt. Commander Crenshaw to a character in a bad porno.

People from all sides immediately came out to criticize Davidson's joke. This past Saturday Davidson apologized with Lt. Commander Dan Crenshaw sitting right beside him for an edition of SNL's Weekend Update. Lt. Commander Crenshaw got in a few jokes of his own before accepting Pete's apology and reminding us on this Veterans day to tell a Veteran #NeverForget. It tells them that as an American you are there with them and never forget the sacrifices they've made. He also thanked Pete for his father's service. Pete's dad was a firefighter on 9/11 that gave his life saving others.

Kudos to Pete for owning his mistake and serious class from Lt. Commander Crenshaw for accepting the apology and highlighting the importance of forgiveness... of course not before getting in his own funny jokes! Check it out!
