USS Indianapolis Found 72 Years Later!

I remember watching Jaws for the first time as a kid and having to ask my dad if Quint's creepy tale of a sinking ship really happened. Yes. Yes it did which made my fear of sharks even greater. The USS Indianapolis was hit by two Japanese torpedoes in WWII and sunk so fast in the Pacific that the crew wasn't able to get a distress signal out. Only about 300 of the 1200 crew came out alive five days after the sinking. Many were actually attacked by sharks as they were in shark infested waters.

Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen helped fund some state of the art equipment that finally 72 years after it sunk helped to locate the ship 18,000 feet below the Pacific. However, the exact location will remain secret as it is a military grave. Check out the footage of the found ship and the creepy speech from Quint
