The Massachusetts State House is under a hiring freeze.
State House officials are confirming that because of federal economic uncertainty, they are implementing the freeze.
The state House budget for the current fiscal year is just under 50-million-dollars, with more than 500 full time employees.
That number does not include elected representatives, and the order will not impact previously approved jobs.
Governor Maura Healey previously issued a similar hiring freeze covering most of the executive branch.
