Man Spits On Women Not Wearing Masks, Tells Them He Has COVID

Authorities in Massachusetts are searching for a man accused of spitting on two women who were hiking near the Hudson Overlook on the Midstate Trail in Ashburnham.

The man, who has not been identified, approached the women and chastised them for not wearing a mask.

"You're not wearing a mask," the man said.

"I don't care, I'm not gonna wear a mask when I'm outside," one of the women replied.

"That's not the law, that's not the law," the man told them. "Selfish is what it is, completely irresponsible."

"OK, thank you so much for your input," the woman responded.

The man started to walk away but then turned around, pulled down his mask, and spit towards the women, telling them: "I have COVID. I've been tested positive."

"Are you OK," one of the women asked.

"No, you won't be soon," he told them as he spit at them again.

He then started to laugh, telling them: "That's arrogant, completely arrogant."

After the man left, the two women contacted the police.

Authorities have asked the public for help identifying the man, who was described as in his late 60s or early 70s with gray facial hair. The man could face a misdemeanor charge of assault and a felony charge of false threat of a biological agent.
