COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- Dozens of traffic lights and Mt. Carmel East Hospital were among those impacted by a power outage on the east side of Columbus.

AEP reports close to 10,000 power outages in Franklin and Licking Counties. The problem appeared to be in a substation on the east side.

Mt. Carmel East said they moved some patients to other areas of the hospital that does have power and emergency room runs were diverted to other hospitals.

The hospital is also advising people scheduled for outpatient procedures on Tuesday to contact their provider before coming to the hospital.

Power to most of the affected area was restored by 9 a.m.
