COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)-- A popular Mud Volleyball Tournament in Columbus, benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation, has been canceled for 2014.
Organizers of the Mud Volleyball Tournament say the courts they were digging out at the new location of the event, at All-A-Cart Manufacturing on Courtright Rd., turned up sharp objects, like rusted metal debris, chunks of cinder block, and asphalt. They say proceeding with the tournament there would put player safety at risk.
The event was forced to move from Beulah Park when the site in Grove City sold, and eventually closed. It was set for this Saturday.
In an e-mail from Executive Director Kathy Schrag, refunds will be given for each team, and they are organizing for next year's event.
