Residents across New England and parts of New York are preparing for a winter storm that will bring snow and frigid temperatures to much of the region in the first week of the year.
Snow began falling overnight, but the full storm isn't expected to hit until later today. As much as a foot of snow or more is forecast for some areas. By Friday morning, high temperatures in some areas could near zero. In the greater Springfield area we are expecting somewhere in the 5 to 8 inch range. The higher elevations will see more.
There are parking bans in effect for most of the area. All the storm related information, including a massive list of school related information is right here. http://www.whyn.com/cc-common/closings/view_closings/@
